AJAX TARGET FIFTH WIN AGAINST GRONINGEN

Dutch champions Ajax Amsterdam can make it five straight wins in the league with a victory over Groningen at the Amsterdam Arena on Saturdayevening. Ajax Amsterdam play hosts to Groningen in one of the matchweek seven fixtures slated for this weekend as far as the Dutch Eredivisieis concerned.

The current run of four consecutive wins started on the back of the 1-1 draw at the home of FC Twentelast month. The winning run began with the 5-0 thumping of Vitesse Arnhem at home. Antony, Edson Alvarez, Ryan Gravenberch, Tomas Hajek (own goal) and Davy Klaassen were all on target against Vitesse.

The Vitesse game preceded the 2-0 away win over PEC Zwolle courtesy the brace from Ivorian international striker Sebastien Haller either side of the halftime break. The French-born Ivorian player gave Ajax Amsterdam the lead just before the hour mark before he doubled the advantage midway into the second half. His two goals ensured that Ajax Amsterdam made it two straight wins in the league.

Brazilian attacker David Neres scored twice for Ajax Amsterdam to lead the Dutch Eredivisie giants to an emphatic 9-0 win over Cambuur. Sebastien Haller, DusanTadic, Danilo, Steven Berghuis, NoussairMazraoui,Jurrien Timber and Mohamed Daramy were all on target for Ajax Amsterdam during the game which took place at the Amsterdam Arena last week Saturday. The win over Cambuur made it three wins on the trot for Ajax in the league.

Ajax Amsterdam then beat hosts Fortuna Sittard 5-0 to make it four wins in a row on the Dutch Eredivisie scene. Serbian international DusanTadic was amongst the goalscorersduring the game played on Tuesday. The other Ajax players on target against Fortuna include Mohammed Kudus, NoussairMazraoui, Nicolas Tagliafico andSteven Berghuis. Ahead of the game with Groningen at home, Ajax Amsterdam have a one-point lead over PSV Eindhoven.
